This decan is sometimes written Ssmw, and some authors (Leitz 1995) read it as mDd from the hieroglyph with two v-shaped stakes tied together (Gardiner Code Aa23) used in K3, K5, K8, and K9. The decan only occurs in the K decan list. The appearance of this decan is indeed the clue that suggests K9 belongs to the K family of tables. In the other K tables, the decan appears in four cells in K1 and five in K2. It forms diagonals starting at (5,12) in K3, (6,12) in K4, (10,8) in K5, (8,10) in K8, and (8,9) in K10. It appears twice in K11. The other two K tables do not preserve the decan.
